Media kits are the thing that can make or brand a brand deal. It can make one creator stand out a little bit more compared to another. It is important to know why you need a media kit, what you need to include, and how to create one. We will also be sharing some of our favorite places to find templates for media kits if you don’t want to start from scratch.
What is a media kit?
Media kits, also known as press kits, are promotional materials that give brands an idea of who you are. It should reflect your social growth, personal brand, and style. Media kits should be used for, but are not limited to:
- social media influencers and bloggers/youtubers to land brand sponsorships
- bloggers and media outlets to gain advertisers
- pre-packaged set of marketing materials that promote a person, business, or cause
*tip of the day! if you are emailing a brand for a potential collaboration, don’t send them an attachment of your media kit on the initial email. Often times, it will send your email to spam/flag it and the brand won’t see it. You should include in your first email that you have a media kit and you’re happy to send it over!*

What do you include in a media kit?
- short about me
- products / services you offer
- target audience
- key metrics / demographics
- contact info / social media
- pervious partnerships (optional)
- testimonials / reviews (optional)
Media kits are like resumes, if possible, it’s best to have it be only one page, but 2 pages (or more depending on performance) also works!
Where do you find media kit templates?
You can create a media kit from scratch, but if you’re struggling on where to start, templates are a great way! You can find free or paid templates on:
- Google (search media templates)
- Canva (free)
- Pinterest (free / paid)
- Creative market (paid)
- Etsy (paid)
With media kit templates, if you don’t want to pay for one that’s fine! You can easily use them as inspiration to make your own. HOWEVER it is important that you do not COPY someone’s work.

Challenge #2:
Prompt: Create a media kit that you would send to brands. This can include photos, social links, demographics, past brands you’ve worked with, etc.
Deliverables: Digital media kit! (can be one or multiple pages)
(if you already have one made, feel free to update it / reformat it, or just send it our way!
How to submit:
- send us it over DM (via screenshot / image or share on Canva / Word) or email for us to take a look

- OPTIONAL: Share on your stories
Because media kits are personal to YOU and are meant for brand work, we will not be sharing them on our stories / with others. We would be happy to look over yours however if you have questions or want advice! We are in no way experts however, and everything is personal opinion that you can take or not!
