What is a vision board?
“A dream board or vision board is a collage of images, pictures, and affirmations of one’s dreams and desires, designed to serve as a source of inspiration and motivation.“

Why should you make a vision board?
Vision boards help put your goals, hopes, and dreams in a physical space. (cheesy right? but it’s true) By looking at it, it provides a positive mindset as well as allowing you to be more productive in your goals.
How to make a vision board in 5 easy steps:
Step 1: Decide if you want a physical or digital vision board.
Physical
- Get a poster board and print out photos / write on the board
- Use a notebook and write down lists
- Create a mood board on a digital site and print it out
Digital
- Use Canva to make a vision board
- Create a board or multiple boards on Pinterest to be able to continue to pin
- Using Notion
Step 2: Write it out
A vision board can’t be made without having an idea of your dreams or things you want to achieve. Make a list (it doesn’t have to be long) of things you’d want to include or aim for on your vision board. For example, if you want to travel more, you could put a picture of a place that you’d really want to go to or an airplane. If you want to read more, you could put a book or genre that you like. It all starts with writing it out first, then you can get creative.
Step 3: Find your inspiration
By using Pinterest, Google, Unsplash, Instagram, etc, to find inspirational photos, quotes, or graphics. However you are making your board, either save or print out these photos. At any time during the year, you can easily add, adjust, and review this board, so don’t be afraid if you missed something.
Step 4: Put together your board
Time to get artsy! Remember, this is YOUR vision board and it doesn’t have to be perfect, you just have to be happy with it. So get out your apps or scissors and glue and get to work. The order or how you organize your pieces doesn’t really matter, what matters is that it is on there.

Step 5: Remember to look at it
Whether you have it hanging in your room, or as your desktop / phone wallpaper, make sure you look at your vision board. You made it for a reason so don’t forget about it.
Some helpful tips:
- Don’t put some one else’s face on your board! If you do, then you are looking at someone else “living your dream”. It might sound crazy but it is all mental
- This is your board – you can put anything you want on it and it doesn’t have to be “aesthetic”
